Sellers Guide
Selling your Pilates equipment comes down to accurately showcasing your equipment and being found. The Community Shopper makes it easy to be found; showcasing your equipment is up to you.
Organize the equipment
First, organize the items you have to sell. If you have only one item, that's easy! But say you're selling two Reformers with accessories, a Cadillac, and a Wunda Chair. These items fall into three natural categories. For each category, set a price. In the case of the two Reformers, set an individual price for each. Then, write descriptions for each category. If possible, get photos of every piece you are selling. There is no limit to how many photos you can include. Now you're ready to post your ad.Provide your Contact Information
Logon with your Pilates Connections Discussion Board logon name and password. Select "Place an Ad" from the "Buy or Sell" menu and follow the wizard-like instructions. Give your ad a general title such as "Peak Equipment for Sale."Select your country and state from the dropdown boxes. If you don't find your country or state in the dropdown, respond "No" to the question "Did you find your country (or state) in the dropdown box?" You will then be presented with a text box into which you will type your country and then state.
Decide how precisely you want to provide your location. At a minimum, provide country, state, and city, but the rest is optional. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to find you. So weigh that against how you feel about security. If you provide your full street address, a Google map will accompany your ad. You can add the Google link yourself, but you don't have to. As you complete each page, click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page.
Provide the Ad Details
After you have finished supplying your contact information, you will be prompted to provide the details to your ad. This is where you will provide the specific information of one of the categories you organized your equipment into. Provide a title for the category (for instance: "Two Peak Classic Reformers"). Then, in the Equipment Description box, write the details: condition of the equipment, color, features, etc. The more information, the better. Just break it up into small paragraphs, as long paragraphs are difficult to read online. After clicking "Continue," you are asked, "Do you have a picture to upload?" If yes, hit the "Browse" button to locate the image file you want to upload. Once uploaded, you will be asked if you have another picture to upload. Respond "Yes" only if the picture pertains to the same category!
After all photos for that category have been uploaded, finally respond "No" to the upload prompt. You will then be asked "Do you have another item, or group of items, for the ad?" If you have a second (third, fourth, etc.) respond "Yes," and repeat the process you just completed. Responding "No" to this question completes the ad submission process. You will receive an acknowledgement that the submission was received and that we will review it.
If we find minor problems with your ad, we will use our discretion to fix them. You can expect to see your ad online in a short time (overnight if you submitted after hours).
Packing and Shipping
Decide whethor or not you are willing to pack and ship your equipment. If you want to stay open to the posibility of shipping, visit your local postal stores. Most of them provide packing services. Large items need to be shipped via ground freight. Packing and shipping is very expensive, so if your buyer expects you to ship the equipment, get an accurate quote for both packing and shipping, and make sure the buyer understands that this cost is above the advertised cost of the equipment. Some buyers will back down when they learn how much it costs to have the equipment shipped. Explain to them that the packing and transportation costs would be at least as much from the manufacturers, should they decide to buy new.
